[K-Movie] Bandhobi

It sounds interesting, look great, even the reviews written really well.
I watched the preview before... and it grab my attention immediately...

I guess it was interesting enough to see the gap of cultures, races and religions... the problem that not just happened in Korea but also almost in every country...

I just hope it's not over rated coz I've listed this movie as "must watch"...

The cast:

Mahbub Alam Pollab as Karim ( young Bangladesh immigrant worker)

Baek Jin-hee as Min-seo (High school girl)

Lee Il-hwa as Eun-jo

Park Hyeok-kwon as Gi-hong

Despite the fact that many migrant diaspora remain largely on the fringes of Korean society, it doesn't prevent them from make their own cinematic footprints. "Bandhobi" directed by Sin Dong-il ("Host and Guest") brings together 2 characters that would normally be unlikey to mix. Karim a Bangladeshi migrant worker and a Min-Seo a female school girl form a very special friendship amongst an indifferent world.

Although the film deals with significant issues such as the plight of immigrant workers, racism, poverty and the inequality of Korea's stress laden education system, director SHIN presents a light hearted journey into these problematic realms.

Karim, played by Mahbub Alam Pollob, a Bangladeshi Academic, comes to Korea with hopes of a better life but is exposed to its stark reality. At the same time Min-seo, played by Baek Jin-hee is a loud, obnoxious teenager who has concerns other than worrying about a fair society. Both are forced however even further into their problematic plights in the search for an income. Min-seo who needs money to pay for the highly coveted prize of attending an English academy starts to work in a massage parlour. Karim in the meantime is forced to knock on doors in search of his former boss who cheated him out of his pay. These two unlikely characters then come together to form a unique relationship.

That this film features a migrant worker playing a migrant worker in a lead role is of no small significance. There are a million foreigners in Korea yet many, especially those not teaching English or working in large companies, remain largely sidelined. "Bandhobi" follows the lead of other diaspora communities around the world exploiting cinema to realize the plight of migrants. The Indian community in London is a good example of this after its international success with films like Bend it like Beckham (2002) and delving even further, exposing issues regarding gay Indians in London with A Touch of Pink (2004).

In addition, in Korea amongst the plethora of film festivals, whole programmes are being dedicated to humanitarian and other issues based films. Such festivals include The Migrant Film Festival, The Human Rights Festival, The Green Film Festival in Seoul, The Women's Film Festival and The Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. "Bandhobi" distributed by Indiestory, will open in Korea on June 25. David Oxenbridge (KOFIC)

Jang Ja-yeon's manager arrested in a Tokyo Hotel

By Kim Rahn
Staff Reporter

Japanese authorities are likely to deport the late actress Jang Ja-yeon's former agency head, according to Korea's Ministry of Justice Friday.

A ministry official said that its Japanese counterpart promised to cooperate with Korea's request for Kim Sung-hoon to be ordered to leave the country.

The Korean government had originally requested his extradition, but decided to seek deportation instead because the extradition process can take up to three months. His passport had already been cancelled.

"We expect to get him from Japan in a week or a month at the longest", the official said.

Jang committed suicide at her home south of Seoul in March, leaving a note indicating that she was forced to provide sexual services and entertainment to media and showbiz VIPs in return for more media exposure.

Kim, who allegedly forced her to do so, has been hiding in Japan since her death, but was detained by Japanese police in Tokyo Wednesday.

Kim told the police in Japan that sexual services were not the reason for Jang's suicide, Kyodo News reported Thursday.

Another news regarding the cases...

Extradition back to Korea could fall within one week.

Police investigating the suicide of actress Jang Ja-yeon said they will resume their probe into the case following a two-month hiatus after the primary suspect was arrested on Wednesday at a hotel in Tokyo, Japan. Han Poong-hyun, chief of the Bundang Police Precinct in Gyeonggi, said at a press briefing yesterday that the police are in discussions with Japanese police over extraditing Kim Sung-hoon, the head of Jang's former management company, as soon as possible. The chief added that Japanese law enforcement authority will likely hand over Kim within one week at the earliest since he is currently recognized as an illegal immigrant.

Kim fled to Japan on Dec. 2 last year after the Jongno Police Precinct in central Seoul asked him to show up for questioning about a separate case involving the alleged sexual harassment of a male model.

Kim flew to Japan with a visa valid for 90 days that expired on March 1. South Korea's Foreign Ministry nullified his passport on June 14.

Bundang police officially asked for the cooperation of Jongno Police in seeking Kim's extradition from Japan in April through the Korean Justice Ministry.

Police said the extradition period lasts three months at most. Japanese prosecutors have to request a court to approve the extradition and the court needs time to make a judgment.

"A senior prosecutor dispatched to the Korean Embassy in Japan is consulting with officials at Japan's Justice Ministry", said Yoo Ho-geun, an official at the Korean Justice Ministry. "It is likely that the Japanese government will agree to our request to expel Kim".

Bundang police submitted their interim report on the Jang case on April 24 after interviewing 20 people and accusing eight men of forcing the actress to serve them drinks and have sex.

Meanwhile, Kim's lawyers have accused Yoo Jang-ho, the head of Jang's management agency at the time of her suicide, of defamation after he allegedly leaked Jang's letters to the media in which she complained about how she was treated.

Among these nine accused men are three entertainment agency officials, including Yoo, two producers, three financial industry officials and the head of an IT company.

Allegations that Kim had assaulted Jang shook the nation in the weeks following her suicide on March 7 at her residence in Bundang. Kim was also accused of coercing Jang to serve drinks to influential businessmen.

“We Got Married” couple becomes a real-life couple!

Surprise, surprise! The “We Got Married” lovebirds that are currently dating are Jun Jin & Lee Shi-young. Who knew this show could produce an actual couple? Of course, the most popular first generation couples, such as Andy &SolbiCrown J & Suh In-young, and Hwang-bo Hyun-joong, are the fan favorites that many wished would blossom into real-life romance, but one should not forget that this is a reality show, which means that it is completely fake.

junjin_leeshiyoung_20090618

Apparently, ahjusshi Jun Jin and Gundam lover Lee Shi-young developed genuine good feelings for one another, while filming “We Got Married” and collaborating together on Jun Jin’s “Fascination” album.

Lee Shi-young’s representative stated that “it is true that the two are seeing each other, but it is known that they have not come to a stage where they are a couple yet.” This most likely means that they haven’t hit the precious 100 day mark yet, but if all goes well, “We Got Married” may someday live up to its name.

Ga Eul & So Yi Jung MV

Suddenly I think I need a little change...
I don't want people to think that I'll be uploading
or projecting only Joongbo or J&J couple ^^

So I decided to use Ga Eul & Yi Jung couple this time...
Soul Mate... a song that I pick and personally love it.

Song: Soulmate By Natasha Bedingfield

Incompatible, it don't matter though
'cos someone's bound to hear my cry
Speak out if you do
you're not easy to find

Is it possible Mr. Loveable
is already in my life?
right in front of me
or maybe you're in disguise

Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone

Here we are again, circles never end
how do I find the perfect fit
there's enough for everyone
but I'm still waiting in line

Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone

If there's a soulmate for everyone

Most relationships seem so transitory
They're all good but not the permanent one

Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone

Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
If there's a soulmate for everyone

Hwang Bo & Kim Hyun Joong - Halo By Beyonce

Another mv of Joongbo couple... ^^

people say's u have to move on...
but keep the good memories and hoping for the best is okay right?

Songs: Halo By Beyonce

Remember those walls I built
Well, baby they're tumbling down
And they didn't even put up a fight
They didn't even make up a sound

I found a way to let you in
But I never really had a doubt
Standing in the light of your halo
I got my angel now

It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
It's the risk that I'm takin'
I ain't never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo

Hit me like a ray of sun
Burning through my darkest night
You're the only one that I want
Think I'm addicted to your light

I swore I'd never fall again
But this don't even feel like falling
Gravity can't forget
To pull me back to the ground again

Feels like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
The risk that I'm takin'
I'm never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
Halo, halo

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo

I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo

Feel happy for them... I won't blame them to keep it as a secret...

They won't make it long if they've announce it earlier...

I hate the fact that every one thought they own that person just because they're a fan

Artist or not as a person they have their right to decide which way to go even to whom they'll say "ILU".

Right or wrong it's not us to judge...

All I wanna say is... be happy and live u're life.

GJP & GJD 6th MV- How Can I Not Love You

Joy Enriquez - How can i not love you Lyrics

Cannot touch, Cannot hold, Cannot be together
Cannot love, Cannot kiss, Cannot love each other
Must be strong and we must let go
Cannot say what our hearts must know

Chorus:
How can I not love you
What do I tell my heart
When do I not want you here in my arms
How does one walks away
From all of the memories
How do I not miss you when you are gone

Cannot trip, Cannot share sweet and tender moments
Cannot feel how we feel, Must pretend it's over
Must be brave and we must go on, Must not say
What we no longer long

Chorus:
How can I not love you
What do I tell my heart
When do I not want you here in my arms
How does one walks away
From all of the memories
How do I not miss you when you are gone

How can I not love you

Bridge:
Must be brave and we must be strong
Cannot say what we no longer long

Chorus:
How can I not love you
What do I tell my heart
When do I not want you here in my arms
How does one walks away
From all of the memories
How do I not miss you when you are gone

Kim Hyun Joong Collapsed again & again...

It has been reported that Kim Hyun Joong was admitted to the hospital on the morning of 8th June because he had high fever and subsequently fainted. He is being treated by doctors and has been strictly recommended to rest for a few days.

Because of his collapse, the  trip to Thailand has been canceled. Word has it that Kim Hyun Joong, was already at the airport, on the way to Thailand, but did not make it on the flight. This leads us to believe that he collapsed at the airport and was rushed to the hospital.
This is not the first time Hyun Joong has fainted. We heard that he fainted shortly after work on Boys Before Flowers completed, due to exhaustion. Seriously, the guy is over-worked. Right after filming BBF, he delved into CF filming (lots and lots of them) and also worked on ss501's new album simultaneously while traveling overseas for promotions and activities. There wasn't any time for rest at all.

Kim Hyun Joong reunited with Boys Before Flowers co-star Lee Min Ho at a recent photo shoot for their Anycall Haptic Mission Season 2 promotion. When Min-ho saw that his friend had lost weight and is looking pale, he mentioned "Hyung, your face is now so thin. I'm not joking. I'm worried you'll become a skeleton if you go on like this! At that, Kim Hyun Joong replied, "I've not slept for three days because of the new SS501 MV. Looks like I still won't get to sleep today. I think I will collapse if it continues... "

* I believe that no matter how hard you work it won't change anything when there is nothing left for yourself. It seems like KHJ been pushing himself too hard nowadays and I wonder why and it does not seem like he need to... I mean with his current popularity...

I've read somewhere too that DSP Media is on the list of "Slave Companies"... which is mean the contract between DSP Media and their artists (one of them are SS501) were basically unfair to their artist. And from the news I can assume that... it's not that KHJ pushing himself to work but the contract and the company does not let him rest and stop not until they got what they want...

Wish To see You Again

I'm currently watching this drama.

What I really like about this drama is the way they make it beautiful... okay I'm not talking about the cast I'm referring to the various locations  they show us. Seriously I've been thinking back then I haven't seen anything like this. I've been wondering too if Taiwan really have beautiful place to go... but after watching this drama I've put Taiwan on the list in my traveling list... wish to see more like this soon.

So is this drama okay for me? yes... I think so since I'm still watching it so I'll say it's great. Guess what make you wanna watch it... all the cute guys are there... Vic Zhou, Ken Chu, Kingone Wang, Vannese Wu.... and yeah the female lead is cute too... I should say perfect match... I'm not bias but Vic and Chen Yan Xi really look cute together...

I'm still trying to finish it... so i don't really know how the ending will be... all i can say is...  I'm quite satisfied.

I quoted this reviews from Andy Chrono: The reason why I quoted it is because I'm agreed with the writers in various way... what I thought and what I want to say been written greatly by the writer so what's the point of writing more if there is someone else who pointed it perfectly... I'm not copying it I just quoted it and that's mean I really admired the writer. All I add here is the pic. ^^

Wish To See You Again

Reviewed by: AndyChrono

Details (Spoiler Warning!):

A. Characters:

Vic Zhou as Xu Le
Xu Le is a best-selling author struggling with a bad case of writer's block. Growing up as an orphan, he naturally developed an introverted personality, making him seem weird at times and awkward when interacting among other people. He has only two friends in his life: Xiao Ma and Ah Hao. To put it succinctly, this is the best character in the series. He's complicated and has great depth for the actor to explore. Vic Zhou does an incredible job here, as every little facial feature is performed flawlessly. The awkwardness and weirdness is pulled off with just enough weight to give it credibility without going too over-the-top to the point where it's no longer believable.

Chen Yan Xi as Pan Neng Xian

Basically the girl next door. Some may complain that this is a cliche or stereotype. This is a fair criticism but the reality is that most young women in Taiwan probably have a very similar life to the Neng Xian character: just out of college, trying to find a job via internship, exploring dating, etc. Thus I personally have no problem with common characters like this because they represent reality. Michelle Chen fits the role like a glove. First off, she looks the part of the girl next door. Secondly, she doesn't overdo some of the funny or serious moments but instead strikes the right balance so that it's entertaining while still believable in the context of the girl next door.

Ken Zhu as Ding Yu Hao

At first, I thought it would be another "friend who disappeared and suddenly came back" character. But the underlying reasons for his disappearance is hinted and then explored very well. I won't reveal too much here, but suffice to say the character's background is complicated and interwoven very well with the other main characters. As for Ken Zhu, I personally found him to be the only weak link among the main actors. He doesn't express the character's tortured past and shame very well, and does a bit too many blank stares from time to time. The only difference between his various emotions was the loudness of voice. Ken didn't do a very good job of communicating through the eyes and facial features and body language.

Kingone Wang as Ma Yong Rui

The character is a standard one: the sibling that is always compared to and falls short of the standards set by his older sibling. While certainly cliche, it's also a character type that represents reality. Most people with siblings have probably had some kind of rivalry or comparison done by parents or others. Xiao Ma here plays a manager of a 5-star hotel run by his older brother. Kingone does an excellent job in showing us the upbeat and casual Xiao Ma. He's also excellent in the sobering scenes. Suffice to say this guy has come a long way since Devil Beside You.

Terri Kwan as Lu Yi

Childhood classmate of the three friends Xu Le, Xiao Ma, and Ah Hao. Was the school beauty that all the boys wanted to date. Now works at a news company. She has ties to all 3 friends which are slowly explored through the story. The Lu Yi character is the hub around which the three friends turn. Their relationships toward her and one another change dramatically over the course of the show. She can thus be labeled as the catalyst or driving force behind a significant portion of the show's plot. This kind of character is the most difficult to express. Because of the constantly changing relationships, one has to switch between the full range of emotions through the show. Terri Kwan does an excellent job here. There are a lot of crying scenes, but I was pleasantly surprised that she didn't pour on sacchrine to the point where it was cringe-worthy. All-in-all a great showing.

Ji Qin as Pan Neng Zhen

Plays the eldest sister in the Pan family. Loves Ah Hao but is too shy to admit it to him. She is a huge fan of Xu Le's novels but only knows him under his pen name of Ye Zi. The Neng Zhen character exists primarily to help develop the character of Ah Hao throughout the show as a new love interest. The role is relatively small compared to the 5 other leads, but Ji Qin does a good job at playing out the changes that the character goes through: changing froma shy and sheltered girl to one who isn't afraid to go out into the world. Again, somewhat cliche but at the same time realistic and relatable.

Supporting Cast:

The entire supporting cast is superb. You have the hilarious boss of the taxi company who loves to ask his drivers to bring him back any good food they find. Xiao Ma's brother who exudes a calm and serious demeanor of a general manager. The Pan family parents who run a Chinese medicine clinic. Vanness Wu's guest star role as Leo is hilarious but not overdone to the point of ridiculousness. I also want to make special mention of the 3 actors who play the younger versions of Xu Le, Xiao Ma, and Ah Hao. They develop the personalities of the characters flawlessly, as you can see the seeds of why their adult versions are the way they are and why they make certain decisions in certain situations.
Character Summary:
The best part of the characters in the show are that they are all realistic and relatable. Some like Neng Xian (Nancy) are straight out girl next door types. Some are more eccentric like Xu Le, but they all have qualities the viewers can relate to. There are no over-the-top characters (e.g. anything with Mike He) that while entertaining once in a while, are completely in a different universe. Furthermore, the main characters are all good people with flaws. Their successes and failures are due to their various strengths and weaknesses. This creates a stronger connection with the audience, as you can really root when they succeed, and you really feel for them when they come up short.
B. Plot/Story
I won't give away the plot, but I'll say that it has similar qualities to that of the characters: realistic and relatable. Nothing absurdly crazy happens. Everything that happens could really happen in real life, which in my opinion strenthens the dramatic impact. There are a couple "buys" we have to accept in order to set up the initial situation and get the ball rolling. However these come early on so you don't get deus ex machina situations at the end. These is a near "kiss of death" cliche near the end but I personally thought that they did an excellent job resolving that without resorting to ultra-weepy scenes with cringe-worthy dialogue. That section is handled in a very adult manner which suffice to say is a rarity in Taiwanese drama. The final thing about the plot is that it weaves in a bunch of tourist attractions in Taiwan (more on this below) and it does it very well. All in all, the plot does an excellent job of weaving the characters together in a belieavable story and also including some beautiful locations for them to go.

C. Music/Soundtrack
Usually, Taiwan dramas if anything have excellent music. This one has one of the best drama soundtracks I've heard. The opening track "Waiting Here For You" by F4 is catchy and easy to sing along with. There are other tracks used for various moments, and you will recognize them during the show. Lu Yi's moments have a particular song. The 3 friends have their song. Xu Le and Neng Xian have their own songs. I can't find fault with any of the songs as not only are they good songs but they are used effectively to enhance the show instead of distract or detract from it.

D. X-Factors
The biggest X-factor is definately the scenery. This show was partially funded by the Taiwan tourism bureau, and they masterfully incorporated some of the big tourist attractions like Ali Mountain, Toroko Gorge, Sun Moon Lake, and the Taipei 101. There's some great shots in the show, and I marvelled at how they managed to wrap a believable story involving all of these places. I also want to add points for being realistic with the characters and plot. In an age where over-the-top stuff is the norm, this show was a breath of fresh air. Sometimes less is more, and the realism strengthens the dramatic impact and lessons of the show.

E. Summary/Conclusion
Wish To See You Again is one of the best contemporary Taiwan dramas. It features realistic adult characters in a realistic story. None of the exaggerated stuff that Taiwan normally puts out. It provides a clear look into life in Taiwan through the characters and shows off many of the beautiful tourist attractions there throughout the story. The music is great and enhances the experience. You grow to care for the characters, as they are all good people trying to succeed, but flawed so that they are tested along the way. This is due in no small part to the actors, who give excellent performances. The plot develops all the main characters very well, including back story and changes through the show. The final resolution is handled nicely as what would normally be a horrible cliche in any other drama is resolved in an adult manner. This one hits all the right notes. I highly recommend you see it if you haven't already.

As I said earlier... I don't write the review... LoL but I believe most of you will agree with the writer... ^^
