JAY PARK’S FANPAGE “UNDERGROUND” DONATES A TOTAL OF $100 THOUSAND USD

While Jay Park’s fandom is known for its warm good deeds, one of Park’s fanpages achieved a total donation amount of 100 million KRW (approximately 100 thousand USD).

Last year the fanpage “Underground”, which mainly consists of Jay Park fans over the age of 20, donated five thousand USD in celebration of the Christmas season to KOSAD (Korea Sports Association for the Disabled), for which Park currently serves as the ambassador. The fanpage also donated another five thousand USD to the Children’s Foundation, an organization to which Underground has been contributing regularly.

In this manner, the amount of money that Underground has contributed since September 2009 reached 100 million KRW in total.

Since September 2009, Underground has collected donations through Naver’s Happy Bean Bank. They have gathered donations accumulating to more than 88 million KRW until now and have also been continuously contributing to the Children’s Foundation by helping starving children and sending books to international adoptees. Moreover, members of Underground participated in offline community services such as visiting the Welfare Foundation, affiliated with the Children’s Foundation, a total of 16 times since the September 2009.

In January of 2010, Underground donated 5 million KRW from Naver Happy Bean along with an additional 5 million KRW to Haitian earthquake victims, totaling 10 million KRW (approximately 10 thousand USD).

Underground stated, “Since Jay Park left in September of 2009, we sincerely participated in voluntary community service in order share with others.” They added, “Rather than a one-time contribution, we are happy that we have been able to maintain our initial zeal and progress through our continuous involvement in community service and donations.”
